too many easily gained and held advantages with the cut-off islands w/one entrance, distribution of reinforcements not great enough to even attempt to balance the values of card turn-in.
not the best for free-for-all, but better with fog and team play, central nation reinforcement values should be altered to reflect difficulty in holding and maintaining contiguity with threats on multiple sides, especially with many players.
similar to other reviews, good gameplay, if you pay attention to the distinctions beforehand it isn't bad at all. 'Bridges, mountains and rivers should stand out more on this board'
